Medicare
Medicare Part A
Part A Covers inpatient hospital stays, care in a skilled nursing facility(limited coverage), hospice care and some home healthcare. The Hospitalization Coverage has a deductible for in patient hospitalization. The deductible can be charged with any hospitalization as long as it has been 60 days since your last discharge.
Medicare Part B
Part B cover certain doctors' services, outpatient care, medical supplies, and preventive services. You have an annual deductible. Once the deductible is paid you then are responsible for 20% of the cost.
Medicare Part C
Medicare Part C, or Medicare Advantage, combines the benefits of Medicare Parts A, B and typically D. Medicare Advantage plans typically come with additional benefits that Original Medicare doesn’t have and are distributed by private insurance companies. In many cases, you’ll need to use health care providers who participate in the plan’s network and service area for the lowest costs. These plans set a limit on what you’ll have to pay out-of-pocket each year for covered services, which could help protect you from unexpected costs.
Medicare Part D
If you want to get Part D coverage, you have to choose and enroll in a private Medicare prescription drug plan (PDP) or a Medicare Advantage Plan with drug coverage (MAPD). Enrollment is optional (though recommended to avoid incurring future penalties) and only allowed during approved enrollment periods. Typically, you should sign up for Part D when you first become eligible to enroll in Medicare.
